Wed, 8 November 2006 If you're in the Toronto area, go to the Hummingbird Centre tomorrow (Thursday) before 8 am and help the Radio City Rockettes form the world's longest single line of dancers. All participants get a voucher for a free ticket to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular valid for the first week of performances. For more info, go to http://www.hummingbirdcentre.com/rccs_record.html Hopefully, I'll be doing a Podcast from the event and you'll get to hear about it here on "Eh! To Zed". Fri, 4 August 2006 "Eh! To Zed" is now searchable on Podzinger.com. Also, you can use Podzinger to listen to the episodes and it doesn't seem to have the "Chipmunking" problem (fast playback in a Flash player) the Libsyn player has. I've totally messed up the "Dandylion" episode and it won't even play in the Libsyn player. I'm planning a Dandylion update and a few other things for the next episode. Some of those other things are the reason I haven't been able to do a new episode lately. Category: general -- posted at: 2:48 PM Comments[0] |
Tue, 6 June 2006 This was one of the most difficult episodes I've ever had to do, but for some reason, I had to do it. It wasn't difficult because of the usual reasons (e.g. my lack of personality and inability to speak or be interesting). It's a tribute to our cat, Dandylion, who we lost on Friday. I wish I had a Mac, so I could have done an enhanced Podcast with pictures of Dandylion, but no such luck. Below is the text of Anne's message about Dandylion. If the text-to-speech version is difficult to understand, I've pasted it here for listeners to follow along: This is June 2, 2006, and I'm very sad as I say this. My best friend, my muse, and my companion for the last 16 years died early this morning. Dandy lion was my cat, but he was much more than that too. He was with me through good times and bad. He was with me when my father died, when my husband Rob was near death in the hospital, and when I was in emotional turmoil after just having a miscarriage. By simply curling up to me and purring loudly, Dandy lion could make me feel both loved and comforted. He was with me when Rob and I started our married life in downtown Toronto. Throughout all the 16 years, he was there, too, to share in my celebratory times. Meeting Robin Williams, getting on Breakfast TV, having birthday party after birthday party; Dandy lion was always there to share in my joys An orange and white tabby cat, Dandy lion could be a handful sometimes! A true redhead, he had a feisty, firey temperament. Only Rob and I were allowed to touch him, and he used to love to wrestle and box with Rob. Fighting was his true joy in life. Well, that and eating. At one point in his life, he reached 25 pounds! I never would have guessed that I was getting a cat with such a powerhouse of a personality when I got him from the pet store. They put this sweet little kitten on my lap. I patted him and oohed and awed at his cuteness. And then, unexpectedly, Dandy lion crawled behind me and fell asleep in the small of my back. From then on, I was in love! On September 9, 2003, I started my own business, which I named after Dandy lion. Annie's Dandy Note Cards and Artwork began with a simple sketch of Dandy lion wriggling playfully on his back. After that, although I painted other cats for my customers, Dandy lion was my very favorite subject. And he knew it too! Whenever I painted in my bedroom, he would sit on the bed and watch me or pose for me. I hope I gave you a wonderful life, Dandy lion. You sure made these past 16 years a little more dandy for me! Sat, 13 May 2006 It's Max's birthday and decided to celebrate by wasting more bandwidth by making his listeners (if there are any left) download another show. This episode contains:
As mentioned in the show, you can get the following programs for free: CoffeeCup RSS News Flash - $34.00 CoffeeCup PixConverter - $29.00 CoffeeCup MP3 Ripper & Burner - $24.00 You can click on each one to get more info on them. If you're interested in getting over $80 in free software, send an e-mail to djmaxral+ccs@gmail.com with your e-mail address and I'll send you an e-mail with a link to get the software. I've decided to do it this way to make sure I'm only sending the link to people who are interested. I don't want to spam a bunch of people. Once I've sent the e-mail, I'll delete the e-mail and CoffeeCup Software doesn't sell anyone's e-mail address to other parties. If you're concerned about getting spam, you can use any e-mail address you want, as long as the e-mail will get to you. If you're using a spam filter, make sure it lets mail from coffeecup.com get through at least until you get the e-mail from me. The download page will have a form for you to enter e-mail addresses of 5 people you think might like the software and they can download it for free also. I suggest downloading it yourself and trying it out. If you think of anyone who would like any of the programs after that, then go back to that form and enter their address(es). If you have any questions about this offer, please let me know at the address above. While you're at the CoffeeCup web site, check out some of their other programs. As a CoffeeCup software Ambassador, I may have offers for more free software and you can get discounts on their programs by using the discount code 226STS at checkout. Comments[1] |
